Training for Trainers on Leadership and Management

Five days Training of Trainers (ToT) on Result Oriented Leadership Development Program (ROLDP) was conducted from November 8-12, 2009 at the ADRA Nepal training hall in Banepa, under the Sustainable Women's Economic Development (SWED) Project funded by ADRA Australia. Key duty officers from respective cooperatives of project district Rupandehi, Bara and Kavre attended the training. A total 30 co-operative representatives, government staff and ADRA Nepal staff actively participated in the training program. The objective of the training was to develop committed and result oriented leaders and managers and also develop local resource persons /facilitators to conduct similar training and workshop in their cooperatives.This training will enable the participants to conduct leadership and management workshop in co-operatives for the sustainability and good result of the community based co-operatives by transferring the Result Oriented Leadership Development Program (ROLDP) related knowledge, skills and good practices. Dr. Tatwa Timalsina (Consultant, Institute of Cultural Affairs), Mr. Hareram Bhattarai(Consultant, Color Arrows), Mr. Ashok Kumar Shrestha (Team Leader, ADRA Nepal), Mr. Narayan Satyal( Regional Program Manager, ADRA Nepal)and Mr. Sanat Sapkota (Training Officer, ADRA Nepal) facilitated the training. During the training, international guests Dr. Sandra Mahibours (Australia), Dr. Bettina Haucher (Germany) and Mr. Dick North (Australia) visited and delivered an impressive message and greeting for the result oriented participants. As part of the training, an exposure and learning visit was organized for the participants in Nari Jagaran Saving and Credit Co-operative Nala, and discussed the status, progress and their ongoing development activities.
In the closing session, participants strongly committed to successfully implementing the knowledge and ideas gained such as developing action plans, preparing challenge projects, maximizing resource mobilization and gaining commitment for sustainability of their co-operative. Each participant obtained a training completion certificate from ADRA Nepal.
